In the history of the Macedonian national football team, 15 coaches have changed, and only three have gone winless, including the current one, who can still improve his statistics.

Statistics is a very cruel thing. It doesn’t care about the quality of opponents, the types of competitions, the conditions of the field, the players available – just numbers, numbers and nothing else.
In this ranking, we will not take into account the acting coaches. There have been four such so far: Boban Babunski on two occasions (a total of 4 matches), Zoran Stratev (2 matches) and Goce Sedloski (1 match).
The first to manage to end his coaching term without a win was Gjorgji Jovanovski. He was in charge of the national team from 01 May 2001 to 15 January 2002. He sat on the bench for 13 matches and recorded 6 draws and 7 defeats with a goal difference of 9:27. It ended ingloriously after he had a falling out with a number of players, including the then leaders Gjorgji Hristov and Toni Micevski, and the boycott against him went so far that he played his last matches with a patchwork squad with players from the domestic league. Jovanovski used as many as 54 players in the 13 matches, and was also remembered for two “firecrackers” in a row. He played 5 qualifying and 8 friendly matches.

Serbian coach Ljubinko Drulović, who led the national team from 23 April 2015 to 16 October 2015, during a period when Goran Pandev, in a sign of revolt against the FFM, had withdrawn and did not play, was also left without a win. Drulović played only 5 matches, in which he recorded 4 losses and 1 draw, and ended his term early after the opportunity opened up for him to lead Belgrade giant Partizan, which he immediately seized. He used a total of 29 players in the five matches. All of his matches were qualifying.

In his current term, he has played 8 matches, recording 6 defeats and 2 draws, but with a striking goal difference of 0:18. So far, he is the only coach who has not celebrated a goal. So far, he has used as many as 43 players in the eight matches.

Since all three are winless, the only way to determine (un)success is how many matches they haven’t lost. The percentages say that Jovanovski is the “best” here because he has a lot of draws – he hasn’t lost in almost half of the matches. The current Sedloski is second with a small advantage over Drulović, who-in his defense-has very few matches, all of them qualifying. But on the other hand, no one was forcing him to leave after only 6 months.
In terms of goal difference, they are all terrible. Jovanovski has 9 goals scored and 27 conceded, Drulović has 1 goal scored and 5 conceded, and by far the worst is Sedloski who has 18 conceded and has not scored a single goal, with an average of 2.25 goals conceded per game.
Sedloski will have two new chances to improve his statistics in November when Macedonia plays away against Scotland and at home against Slovenia.
