The World Macedonian Congress issued its support for Preston Lions following their harsh punishment by the Football Victoria regarding the incidents at the match against Australian-Greek side South Melbourne.

The support comes after the Independent Tribunal on Wednesday confirmed the sanctions imposed on Preston Lions.
“The World Macedonian Congress – Australia (WMC-A) stands with Preston Lions FC and our community following the latest sanctions, which are excessive and inconsistent.
A three-point deduction, $18,150 in fines, restrictions on away supporters, and the threat of a further 6-point penalty until 2028 is unreasonable and affects everyone involved – players, staff, volunteers, families, and every supporter of the club.
WMC-A is concerned the principles of fairness and equality are not being adhered to. If Football Victoria applies this level of punishment to Preston, then the same standards must apply across all clubs. But this clearly not the case.
Support the club with passion, but stay composed. If you see behavior that crosses the line, speak up.
If you love the club show it by respecting the club and contributing in a positive manner. Together we can all ensure that the future of Preston Makedonia remains bright.”
