Following the meeting of the presidents of UEFA member associations with the UEFA President and Executive Committee, the Football Federation of Macedonia decided to withdraw its support for Gianni Infantino’s candidacy for re-election as FIFA president for the period 2027–2031.

The FFM also sent an official written notification about the decision.
“The decision was made after careful consideration of recent developments and the way FIFA is run, particularly in terms of good governance, institutional integrity and transparency in relations with national federations.
The FFM believes that trust, accountability and open dialogue must be the foundation of the governance of world football. The best interests of football and its development must always come first.
As a member of UEFA, the FFM remains firmly committed to the common principles and values of European football and will continue to stand together with all national federations committed to the protection, development and promotion of football.
We remain committed to cooperating with all our international partners, with the sole aim of protecting and promoting the interests of football,” the FFM said.
Infantino has already lost the support of UEFA, AFC and CONCACAF, but each member federation of these continental federations needs to confirm the decision to withdraw support, as the FFM has done. For example, Mexico from CONCACAF has already announced that it will support him and there have even been reports that it will request a transfer to CONMEBOL.
