The Tetovo based club announced that coach Jeton Beqiri will not lead the team next season, after the management decided not to offer him a new contract. Beкјiri’s contract ended at the end of the 2025/2026 season.

“After a joint evaluation of the period of cooperation, the club and the coach have decided to part ways at this time, closing an important chapter in Shkëndija’s recent history,” Shkëndija said.

Jeton Beкјiri took over the team in January 2024 and during his tenure led the team to the championship title in the 2024/2025 season. Under his leadership, Shkëndija also recorded the most successful performance in the club’s history in European competitions, securing participation in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League and a place in the play-off phase of the competition.

“All of us at Shkëndija thank Jeton Beкјiri for his contribution during his leadership of the team and wish him health and success in the continuation of his professional career,” the club added.

Beкјiri failed to repeat last season’s success, finishing second in the first league, 9 points behind champions Vardar. Moreover, Shkëndija came close to winning the Macedonian Cup, but lost the final to Sileks.

“Sincere gratitude to all the players. They were the main protagonists on the field, they worked with great dedication and sacrificed themselves in every match for the colors of this club. I am proud of the character and professionalism they showed during this entire period in which we worked together. We won the championship title, we were outstanding in Europe, we qualified for the Conference League playoffs. This year I have the defeat in the Cup final as a punishment, while as far as the championship is concerned, it was an uneven season in the race for the title and I am ready to challenge this to anyone,” said Beкјiri about parting ways with Shkëndija.
