The coach of the Macedonian national team, Goce Sedloski, has announced the list of players he will count on for the upcoming friendly matches against the 2026 World Cup participants, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Türkiye.
At today’s press conference, Sedloski announced a list of 27 names, 6 of whom are debutants, while 8 come from the domestic league.
After winning the Macedonian Cup with Sileks on Wednesday, winger Darko Dodev and defensive midfielder and team captain Darko Angjeleski received their debut call-ups. Three of those who will be waiting for their debut appearance are from this season’s league champion Vardar, namely goalkeeper Davor Taleski, right back Georgije Jankulov and striker and captain Azer Omeragić. The last debutant is left defender Din Alomerović, who plays in Romania. Taleski was previously called up on one occassion, but did not make an appearance.
The coach made a lot of changes from the March list, not calling up several players, but some were unavailable due to injuries. Such are the cases with Dejan Iliev, Ljupcho Doriev, Luka Stankovski, Egzon Bejtulai, Mario Ilievski and Dimitar Mitrovski, while Tihomir Kostadinov and Andrej Stojchevski can’t join the national team due to club commitments.
Midfielders Isnik Alimi and Reshat Ramadani as well as attacker Danny Musovski are left out. On the ommission of the American-Macedonian, the coach said.
“I am completely satisfied of how Musovski played in March. I just want to test other players on his position. There is also the time difference for him to come just for these friendlies in only four days. I liked how he plays for both club and national team.”
As it is already known, veteran attacker Aleksandar Trajkovski decided not to play for the national team anymore, unsatisfied with the new coach’s decisions in the World Cup play-off against Denmark in March.
Sedloski revealed that in accordance with the Bosnian coach they agreed to be allowed to make as many as 11 substitutions in the second half.
