The Macedonian U19 champion lost 5:0 in the first leg match away to Irish youth champion Shelbourne.

Without TV coverage for Macedonia, we don’t know how the young Rabotnichki players played in this match. From the statistics at the UEFA web site, Shelbourne dominated the match, especially in the second half when they scored four goals.
It is a tough defeat that destroys Rabotnichki’s hopes for reaching the next round. The return leg will be played on 1 October in Skopje at the FFM Petar Miloshevski Training Center. Rabotnichki U19 plays its home matches at the Alumina field, but there are no stands there so it can not host UEFA matches.

It is worth noticing that only few of these Rabotnichki players played last season when the club won the Macedonian U19 league.
No Macedonian team has ever won a match in the UEFA Youth League so far. Rabotnichki will have another chance to do that in the return leg.
