Simeon Hristov scored twice against Ferencváros

Simeon Hristov (front)Simeon Hristov, who plays for Hungarian side Egri FC, scored two goals against well known domestic club in Ferencváros.

Egri and Ferencváros played a friendly this past Saturday which ended 2:2.  Both goals for Egri were scored by young Macedonian attacker Simeon Hristov.  Hristov, who was born in Skopje and grew up in the Vardar youth system, is currently playing in Hungary for second division side Egri FC.

Ferencvaros twice took the lead during the game but Hristov equalized each time and did not let the well known Hungarian club record a victory.  Simeon scored both goals in the second half as the match, albeit a friendly, was played in front of 700 fans, reported the media in Hungary.  Egri’s coach was satisfied with Hristov’s performance and pointed out that the club had some problems with efficiency in the first half of the season but he is optimistic those problems will be ironed out with several players returning to form, one of them being Hristov.

Egri is currently in 8th place of the Hungarian second division, 11 points behind the table leaders with 15 rounds remaining until the end of the season.  The next match for the club is against second placed Békéscsaba which will be played on the 3rd of March.

Simeon Hristov was born on 4 September, 1992 and originally played for Vardar before moving to Hungary.  In 2010, he joined Vasas, a top division side, but he was not receiving much playing time so he decided to continue his career at Egri.  To date, Hristov has won 2 caps for the Macedonian U21 national team, both being in friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
