The 33rd season of the Macedonian second league ended today. Makedonija GjP is the winner and got promoted to the top flight along with Arsimi, who recorded a historic promotion. Bashkimi 1947 will have to look for promotion through the play-off.

Makedonija GjP had already clinched promotion after FFM cancelled Bashkimi’s win against Kozhuf, but today at home against Belasica needed to confirm the first place. They did that even by playing a goalless draw. It is the 4th second league trophy for the Lions, with two of them being when the league was divided in two groups.

Arsimi visited Vardar in Negotino and in the opening 45 minutes secured the win. Arsimi finished as runners-up, capitalizing from Bashkimi’s cancelled win in Gevgelija. The club from the village of Chegrane played only its third season in the second flight after spending 25 seasons in the third league and few in the fourth, but now in celebrating joining the elite of the Macedonian football.

In Shtip took place a clash for the promotion play-off spot between Bregalnica and Bashkimi 1947. After yesterday’s closing of the 1.MFL it was clear that Besa 1976 will be entering the play-off and today it was decided the second league participant. Bashkimi managed to celebrate a lone goal win and book a place in the play-off.

It was already decided that Vardarski and Borec will be relegated in the third league, while Osogovo will enter the play-off for filling the second league with the 5 winners of the third league groups.
