After losing attacker Ferhan Hasani to Wolfsburg, Shkendija will also be without his strike partner Mensur Kurtisi who has decided to leave the club.
A Shkendija representative told Makedonski Sport that Mensur and his family have left for Austria and told the club that he will not return to Shkendija for the second half of the season. The Tetovo based club gave Kurtisi his documents and he will seek a new club during the winter transfer window. Kurtisi joined Shkendija late in the summer after he could not find an abroad team. Before signing with Shkendija, he was on trial with several clubs, including Karpaty Lviv, but he was not offered a contract.
Mensur then joined Shkendija and scored five goals in 14 appearances during the first half of the season. Kurtisi will now be seeking a new club and apparently, his preference would be to sign with with a team from Austria. He has spent most of his career in Austria but has spent the past two years playing Saudi Arabia and Macedonia. The 25-year-old Kurtisi has also made two appearances for the senior national team of Macedonia during friendlies in the summer of 2010.
