The new season in the women’s top flight starts on Sunday and unfortunately it will kick-off without one team.

Tetovo based Shkëndija informed that due to financial issues is not able to compete this season. The fact that in the summer transfer window were seen only departures was a sign that something isn’t right at the club.

The 1.WFL will continue with 9 teams competing meaning that each round one team will be idle. In the opening round on Sunday idle will be Top Goal.

The withdrawal of Shkëndija also means that no team will face relegation, with the 9th place still ensuring a play-off match against the runners-up of the second league.
