At today’s press conference, Boshko Gjurovski stated, “Ahead of us is a game against a team that so far is perfect when it comes to the points. They have brilliant attackers. Maybe Slovakia doesn’t play attractive football, but they are disciplined and efficient. Hamšík, Weiss and Mak are players that make a difference, they stand out with their quality. Our players are aware of the challenge and the quality of the Slovak team. We must play bravely, be smart and professional in the commitment, and hope that this approach will give us a positive result. Some of the players that were on the list in the previous games were now dropped because I think it’s better for them to be with their clubs or with the U21 national team. We have enough time to make the necessary analysis and prepare to be at our best for this important game against Slovakia.”
Macedonia hosts Slovakia on 15 November at 20.45 CET at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje. Unlike most of the other European nations, Macedonia has opted not to play a friendly on the available FIFA date that is the 18th of November.
