U20: Bulgaria – Macedonia 1:3 (Video)

Kire Markoski (#17) celebrates his goal; photo: bgfootball.comThe Macedonian U20 national team celebrated a 1:3 victory in the friendly match against Bulgaria that took place in Blagoevgrad.

The U20 national team of Macedonia, or a team that featured players that have also played for U19 and U21 national teams, had a friendly on Wednesday against their counterparts from Bulgaria.  The Alekso Mackov led team proved the better side and won deservedly 3:1.

Jasir Asani of Vardar, Kire Markoski of Rabotnichki and Kristijan Kostovski of Makedonija Gjorche Petrov were the goalscorers for Macedonia. Asani and Markoski scored their goals within five minutes of each other to hand Macedonia a 2:0 lead after 22 minutes.  Then, in the 82nd minute, with the score now 2:1, Kostovski scored with a lob over the Bulgarian keeper to cement the victory for Macedonia. 

Macedonia started the match with the following line-up: Igor Aleksovski, Filip Ristevski, Riste Karakamishev, Gjoko Zajkov, Marjan Radeski, Daniel Avramovski, Kristijan Kostovski, Darko Velkovski (C), Besmir Bojku, Kire Markoski.

The remaining players that were called up all received a chance off the bench.

The team is now in negotiations to participate in a tournament in Ukraine during the month of May.
