2.MFL overview of Round 29 (Video)

Gostivar joined Voska Sport as a newly promoted side in the top flight, while Vardar shared the points with Pelister in the biggest Macedonian derby to confirm the promotion play-off spot. Hell of a mess in the battle for avoiding relegation as Sasa defeated Lokomotiva.

After Voska Sport, who will make its debut in the 1.MFL next season, today Gostivar sealed their place. The and an easy task against dead last Borec and recorded a comfortable win. After 9 long seasons Gostivar is back among the elite clubs.

The popular Derby of Macedonia ended with Vardar and Pelister sharing the points. That means that Vardar heads into the promotion play-off where they will most likely face Skopje, the 10th-placed team in the top division. Unfortunately for Pelister, this means that they will be stuck in the second division next season as well.

The goals:

If the top is already decided, that is not the case with the bottom. Borec is relegated long time ago, but the other two places and the relegation play-off spot will be decided in the last round. Teteks and Sloga 1934 clinched 3 points at home against Kozhuf and Ohrid, but it is not over for them. They will need road wins in the last round. Sloga 1934 even with another win may still get relegated, as they now need Teteks and Lokomotiva to lose. In case of equal amount of points, head to head record is the tie breaker and Sloga is better against Teteks (3:0 and 1:1).

The most interesting was probably in Makedonska Kamenica where Sasa hosted Lokomotiva in a direct duel for escaping the red zone. Sasa had a 2:0 lead when its player hit the crossbar on three occasion in just several minutes. The visitors from Skopje punished them and got back in game. The opening goal came from a disastrous mistake of the visiting keeper who dropped the goal through his hands. This was a very important win for Sasa, but if the end up equal on points with Lokomotiva they will be relegated as they have equal head to head record (2:1 and 1:2) but a far worse goal-difference.
