Promotion favorites Bregalnica and Makedonija GjP recorded home wins in the opening round. Both struggled in the first half and went on the break leveled against Pobeda and Ohrid Lychnidos, but clinched the points in the second half.
Vardarski returned to the second division after 27 years and had a nightmare kick-off at Skopje’s, conceding after just 17 seconds as veteran striker Kirovski scored. However, quickly consolidated, equalized from the spot though Balamov and even took the lead with Menov’s great goal. Skopje equalized four minutes from time thanks to Zhoglev.
Balamov’s penalty:
Novaci stunned Det. Plachkovica away, winning with 4:2. Interesting. Former national team player Goran Stavrevski (40 caps) was one of Novaci’s substitute players, although he is now 50-years-old. He didn’t get a chance to play today.
Vardar from Negotino started with a win away to Osogovo, while Kozhuf and Sasa shared the points in a 2:2 draw.
