With Rabotnichki beating Shkupi on Monday the opening round of the new 2023/24 season in the Macedonian top flight got completed.

The opening round was marked by the unsuccessful debut of the three newcomers from the second league. Vardar wall in Strumica by AP Brera, Gostivar could not match defending champions Struga on the road, while second league winners Voska Sport conceded a stoppage time winner at home to Shkendija.
Tikvesh and Bregalnica started with 3 points from their home matches against Makedonija GjP and Sileks.
The round was closed on Monday with the local derby between Rabotnichki and Shkupi. The match was moved from Sunday as on Thursday Shkupi had a road game in the Europa Conference League qualifiers. Rabotnichki was the better side and took the points.
Too many red and yellow cards were show in the beginning of the new season. a total of 6 red cards were shown, two of which were given to coaches.
