Tikvesh from Kavadarci hit the bottom as after non appearing in two games got expelled from the Third League South.
The Football Federation of Macedonia, according to the rules, expelled Tikvesh from participating in the Third League South as they didn’t play two games. The first warning came when they didn’t appear in the Round 5 road game against Mlekar for which they were deducted 3 points. In the next round at home Tikvesh appeared with only 7 players, the minimun a team must have in order to start a game, but after only 20th minutes the match was suspended as the home team was left with only 6 players. Later it was registered with the actual result. Last weekend Tikvesh for the second time didn’t travel to an away game, this time against Topolchani.
The reason for this behaviour is the boycott of the players towards the club’s board. Tikvesh last season was relegated from the Second League where was playing for three consecutive seasons. In the season 2010/11 they finished third and participated in the promotion play-off where they lost 2:0 to Napredok. In 2011/12 Tikvesh finished seventh and last season went all wrong. This season Tikvesh had a great start with 3 wins in the first 3 rounds and seemed like they are were fighting for getting back in the Second League. But the bad atmosphere inside the club that was present since last season eventually broke after the Round 4 home defeat by Vardar Negotino in the Winegrower’s Derby.
As Tikvesh played only in 6 rounds this season, all of their results have been erased and the league will continue with 15 teams with each round one team not to have a game to play. Also, last weekend’s game Babuna – Prevalec that ended in 3:0 win for the visitors has been awarded to the hosts as Prevalec fielded two ineligible players.
