FK Nov Milenium from the village of Susica has quit the Second League. The club’s board decision shocked everyone, and now the Macedonian Second League will continue with 15 competitors.
Probably, the financial crisis is the reason for this sad step in the club’s history. This is not the first time a club to quit a league in Macedonia as even last summer FK Bashkimi Kumanovo quit the First League.
It is still unknown what will happen to Nov Milenium. Will the club stop existing or they will continue from the next season in the lowest division? Nov Milenium is on the 14th place in the Second League. According to FFM’s rules, if a club quits a league on the half-season, than its results won’t be erased. That’s the case with Nov Milenium. The club has played all the 15 matches from the first-half, so it will probably remain on the table although will not be playing anymore.
What is interesting it’s that there are some rumors that the club may make a fusion with FK Tiverija Strumica so that Tiverija can take its place in the Second League and to continue with the second-half matches. Tiverija is currently playing in the 3rd League East.
