After yesterday’s resignition of Goran Stankovski, Rabotnichki quickly found a new manager. And it is a very familiar face. Gjorgji Jovanovski is back in the Debar Maalo neighborhood where he cemented his name as the club’s most successful coach.
With Jovanovski in charge, Rabotnichki won his first ever title when back in the season 2003/04 won the Macedonian top flight. The very next season Jovanovski’s heroes successfully defended the trophy. After four season’s he left Debar Maalo when the team failed to win the third consecutive title finishing second in 2006/07.
In November 2011 Jovanovski came back to Rabotnichki but that adventure lasted briefly as after only two months he and the club board agreed to mutually terminate his contract.
“Jovanovski is back home. We believe that he can improve our squad especially when it comes to the psychological motivation of the team. We have agreed to a contract until the end of this season and after that we will sit down and see whether both sides are interested in future collaboration.” – chairman Dragan Popovski declared.
Gjore also game his first thoughts: “Of course that I’m back in a environment that is well known for me. I’m very glad that I’m back in the club where I spent lovely moments. I can say that I am familiar with the current squad that is compiled by quality players. My predecessor has done a good job, so I’m not gonna make big changes. I will mostly try to improve the team spirit in order to enter a series of good results.”
The first challenge for Jovanovski will be Saturday’s home clash with Sileks.
