Veteran striker Riste Naumov has begun training with newly promoted Bulgarian club Etar 1924, and the coaches will test his qualities before deciding whether to offer him a contract.
As the club’s official website reports, Riste Naumov has begun training with Etar 1924 at their training camp in the town of Dryanovo. The 31-year-old will play in the upcoming friendlies where the coaches will test his fitness and quality before deciding whether to extend an offer.
Naumov’s career stalled on 13 March 2010 after he sustained a serious leg injury while playing for Slavia Praha in the Czech Republic. Recovering from the injury took longer than expected as there was a setback following the first operation. The recovery eventually took more than a year and Naumov has since been on trial with several clubs but has yet to make an appearance in a competitive match. Riste signed with Slovak side Spartak Trnava back in February of this year but his contract was soon terminated by mutual consent after some visa problems.
