Macedonian and Yugoslav legendary player Darko Pančev without any hesitation spoke the sad truth that the current U21 national team is very bad in player quality.

In a big interview for Flashscore, Pančev talked about many things and at the end gave bad prognosis about the future of the Macedonia national team after analyzing the current U21 team.

“Honestly, from what I saw from the U21s across the past few matches, that doesn’t give me much hope that we will build a strong young team in the near future because only a few players like Memetriza Hamza, Matej Gashtarov, Dimitar Danev and Dimitar Trajkov stand out.” – said Pančev.

The Macedonian U21 national team so far had a disastrous qualifying campaign with a record of 5 defeats and only 1 win.

“I don’t see a lot of quality in the rest of the players, so we will have to work harder to develop better players who will be good enough to play for the national team in the future.” – concluded Pančev.
