The 30-year-old goalkeeper arrives as a free agent after parting ways with Latvian side RFS in the summer and has been out of contract since. He began his career at Samuel Eto’o Academy before moving to Barcelona as a teenager. He won the UEFA Youth League with Barça’s youth team. He made his senior debut for third-tier Pobla de Mafumet, and then briefly played for Sevilla’s second team before moving to Belgian side Oostende. He has also played for Istra in Croatia, Nîmes in France and Auda in Latvia.

Ondoa has made a total of 53 appearances for the Cameroon national team since his debut in 2014 at the age of 18 until his last appearance in January 2024. He represented Cameroon at 4 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2015, 2017, 2019 and 2023), winning the 2017 edition in Gabon, where he was named in the Team of the tournament. He was also part of the Cameroon national team at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia.

He is the older cousin of André Onana, with whom he was a part of La Masia. Interestingly, Onana was Ondoa’s back up at the 2017 Confederations Cup, and then the reverse situation at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations when Ondoa was Onana’s back up. And at the 2024 AFCON edition, Ondoa was again the first choice goalkeeper, while Onana was the benchwarmer.

His current value according to Transfermarkt is 325,000 Euros, making him the second most valuable keeper in the Macedonian top flight behind Shkëndija’s Gambian goalkeeper, Baboukarr Gaye, whose value is 400,000.
