Alioski pens extension with Schaffhausen

On the heels of his call-up to the senior national team of Macedonia, Ezgjan Alioski has also agreed to a contract extension with Schaffhausen until June of 2016.

It has been a good week for 21-year-old Ezgjan Alioski as he not only received a call-up to the senior national team of Macedonia but also signed an extension with his club team Schaffhausen as well.  The new contract with Schaffhausen will now last until June of 2016.

Alioski initially joined Schaffhausen in January of this year on loan from Young Boys, before Schaffhausen then purchased his contract outright in the summer.  Alioski will now be under Schaffhausen control until the summer of 2016.

This season, Alioski has played in 9 of the possible 10 league games for Schaffhausen, missing the one game due to a yellow cards suspension.  Schaffhausen is currently in second place of the Swiss second division and will be aiming to win promotion by the end of the current campaign.  They currently trail top ranked Vaduz by just two points.

Alioski plays primarily as a left-back who also likes to go forward from his position.  Internationally, Ezgjan first represented Macedonia at the U19 level, then recently played for the U21 team before his latest ascend to the senior national team for the October qualifiers against Wales and Serbia.  He is actually the only natural left-back on the current squad, as the other wing-backs in Daniel Georgievski and Stefan Ristovski are natural right-backs.  However, due to the exclusion of Goran Popov and the bad form of Aleksandar Lazevski, Ristovski has been forced to play left-back for Macedonia in most of the 2014 World Cup qualifications.
