Aleksandar Tanevski statement:
“A serious test awaits us against an exceptionally high-quality side. Serbia is hosting the U21 European Championship and with this squad has high ambitions, so this makes the match an excellent opportunity to gauge our capabilities against a strong opponent.
The core of our squad consists of players born in 2006 and 2007, who are expected to be the key figures for the national team in the upcoming qualifying cycle. In addition, we have a few players born in 2005—who, due to age restrictions, will not be eligible for the next cycle—but they possess the potential and quality to eventually feature for the senior national team.
Players from the younger age groups who were part of the previous gathering will be available to the coaches of their respective youth squads, as those teams have upcoming qualifying matches. Within the FFM, we operate according to a unified concept and a clear objective: player development and the advancement of our national team football.
Although this is a friendly match, it holds great significance for us. It will allow us to see how we function and react against a strong opponent, while also providing a clearer picture of the areas we need to focus on in the period ahead.”
