Friendly: Türkiye – Macedonia 4:0 (Video)

Macedonia got hammered by Türkiye in the friendly match in Istanbul, the last before the new sesaon of the Nations League.

Coach Goce Sedloski made several changes in the starting eleven compared to the previous match in Sarajevo on Friday. Stole Dimitrievski started in goal, in defense were Gjoko Zajkov, Darko Velkovski and Imran Fetai, in the lateral positions Stefan Despotovski and Ezgjan Alioski, in the midfield Agol Elezi and Jani Atanasov, Elif Elmas as a trequartista, and in the attack Bojan Miovski and Azer Omeragić.

The match was being played at Şukru Saraçoğlu stadium in Istanbul, home of local giant Fenerbahçe, which is currently called “Çhobani” due to sponsorship, after the American company Chobani, which specializes in yogurt production.

Macedonia started from the center, but our team played disastrously, resulting in the hosts having a colossal chance in the 10th second when Can Uzun hit the crossbar. That was just a warning, because the home offensive continued and in the 2nd minute the dead lock was broken. Ouz Aydın from the right found Orkun Çokçu in the penalty area, and the latter scored, defeating Dimitrievski.

Macedonia had its first threat in the 15th minute when Atanasov shot from 18 meters, but Altay Bayındır well saved. However, just a minute later the Turks doubled the lead when Can Uzun shot on the ground near the near post, and Dimitrievski failed to save.

Our players tried to organize an attack on several occasions, but failed, unlike the Turks who continued to threaten, but fortunately without a finish.

Before the break, Alioski had a colossal chance when Miovski served him from the right to the far post, Alioski was forgotten by the home defense, left alone in front of the goalkeeper, but instead of shooting, he waited for the hosts to catch him, got free and shot, but Bayındır saved.

At halftime, Sedloski made as many as 6 changes, changing the entire defense of three defenders. Zajkov, Velkovski, Fetai, Despotovski, Atanasov and Miovski came out, and Nikola Serafimov, Jovan Manev, Visar Musliu, Darko Churlinov, Sefer Emini and Milan Ristovski came in. The Turks made three changes, as well as one forced substitution in the first half.

Turkey started the second half like the first, with a threat. In the 48th minute Aydın fired under the crossbar, Dimitrievski punched it into a corner. Five minutes later, the third goal came in the Macedonian net. Uzun made a great cross into the penalty area, where Deniz Gül evaded the defense and headed home as Dimitrievski who had no chance to intervene.

In the 65th minute it was almost 4:0. Newly introduced domestic star player Arda Güler crossed into the penalty area, where Merih Demiral missed something that was harder to miss at the far post.

Four more substitutions followed for Sedloski. Dimitrievski, Alioski, Elezi and Omeragić left the pitch as debutants Davor Taleski and Darko Dodev came in, as well as Boban Nikolov and Sabahudin Alomerović.

The fourth goal, however, arrived in the 70th minute. Güler back-heeled Kahveci, who easily passed the ball from the right into the penalty area to Yılmaz, who scored.

Until the end, there were still some threats from the Turks, and the debutant Taleski intervened twice.

In the fourth match under the leadership of the new coach Sedloski, the Macedonian national team failed to score a goal and so far has two defeats and two draws.
