The Italian champion disappointed this season with failing to finish among the top 24 teams after Wednesday’s home defeat against Chelsea.

Elif Elmas started for Napoli and played until the 82nd minute. Despite his team being down 0:1 early in the match thanks to a penalty goal, he and his teammates managed to turn the score around before concedind an equalizer in the 61st minute. The moment Chelsea scored the game winning goal Elmas was taken off to make room for striker Romelu Lukaku, but Napoli failed to come back.
Napoli eventually ended on the 30th place on the league phase table, meaning they failed to reach the top 24.
