The Croatian giant Hajduk from Split will visit Kochani for a friendly against local side Osogovo in August 2026.
The news was presented but Venko Krstevski, the mayor of Kochani, who is currently in Croatia. Hajduk will visit Kochani in the second half of August next year, with the date to be determined depending on the schedule of the Split team who will most probably play in the European cups.
“I am proud to announce that after the meeting with the president of Hajduk Split, Ivan Bilić, we agreed on a friendly match between Osogovo and Hajduk in August 2026 at our Nikola Mantov stadium. As a sign of sporting friendship with the president of Hajduk, we exchanged jerseys of both clubs. This will be a historic event for Kochani and a huge spectacle for all who carry the yellow-blue spirit in their hearts. It is time for Osogovo to get the holiday it deserves and to show that it is ready for a new chapter,” said Krstevski, who is firm favorite to win the October elections despite being independent candidate.
Hajduk is a well known club in Macedonia thanks to the years of playing in the Yugoslav top flights in former Yugoslavia. Together with Dinamo, Crvena zvezda and Partizan, it formed the Big Four in the strong league of the former Yugoslavia. Hajduk was 9 times champion of Yugoslavia and later 6 times champion of Croatia, with 9 titles in the Marshal Tito Cup and 8 in the Croatian Cup.
