Macedonian champion Shkëndija will play against the Welsh champion in the opening round of the qualifications for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.

Shkëndija entered the draw as unseeded team and had the fortune on its side as escaped some really tough opponents. The draw paired Shkëndija with The New Saints, an opponent they already faced and eliminated in the 2018/19 first qualifying round of the Champions League as well. back than Shkëndija celebrated 5:0 at home, but almost ruined everything after losing 4:0 in Wales.

The first leg will be played on 8/9 July in Wales, while the return will be played on 15/16 July in Skopje. UEFA will determine the exact date and time by 20 June.

The winner of the tie in the second round will face the winner of the clash between Romanian and Andorran champions FCSB – Inter Club d’Escaldes.

If Shkëndija fails to advance to the second round, it will continue in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
