Struga to face Slovan in the Champions League qualifiers

Macedonian champion Struga did not have luck on its side in today’s draw and will have to match the champions of the Slovak league.

The draw for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League first qualifying round took place today at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Yesterday UEFA announced the potential opponents for the Macedonian champion, and those were Slovan (Slovakia), Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar), The New Saints (Wales), Ballkani (Kosovo) and Borac (Bosnia-Herzegovina).

The draw decided that Struga will face Slovan from the Slovak capital city of Bratislava, the hardest possible opponent of those five seeded. Slovan last season won its 22nd title champion of Slovakia, finishit with 15 points ahead of the runner-up team. Slovan also has 8 league titles in former Czechoslovakia.

The two-legged tie will take place on 9/10 july and 16/17 July. UEFA informed that the exact dates and kick-off times will be announced by 21 June.

Struga will most probably play its home match in Skopje, at the National Arena of at FFM’s training center.

The winning team will continue in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, while the losing team will continue its European journey in the 2nd qualifying round of the Conference League.
