During yesterday’s game between the youth clubs of Heerenveen and Ajax, Fazli provided the assist for the lone goal by Heerenveen.

Samir Fazli started for Heerenveen’s youth and played the first 45 minutes before he was substituted at the start of the 2nd half by Enzo Huntink.  Fazli was battling a calf problem and could not continue in the 2nd half.  In the 20th minute, with Heerenveen losing 1:0 against Ajax, Fazli won the ball in midfield and played a good through ball to his teammate Arsenio Valpoort who showed good finishing skills by scoring past the opposing keeper to tie the game.

The match would eventually end 1:1.  After seven rounds in the youth league, Heerenveen is in 2nd place with 16 points while the youth club of Dutch giants Ajax is tied for 7th place with 10 points.
