Aco Stojkov scored a game winning goal for Aarau, Agim Ibraimi and Dragan Cadikovski each had an assist for their respective teams in Slovenia, while more leagues across Europe featuring Macedonian internationals started their seasons this weekend.
Germany, DFB-Pokal, Zweibrücken – Mainz 05 1:2
Nikolce Noveski did not play for Mainz as he was one of four regular starters rested by the Mainz manager in preparation for the return leg of their Europa League encounter against Gaz Metan Mediaș. This was the first round of the German Cup and Mainz rested some players as they were not expected to have trouble beating Zweibrücken but they were made to work and Mainz needed extra time to barely get past the team from the lower German divisions.
Ukraine, Premyer-Liha, Metalurh Donetsk – Dynamo Kyiv 0:0
Goran Popov played all 90 minutes for Dynamo Kyiv while Mario Gjurovski was not among the 18 players called up by Metalurh Donetsk for the second consecutive game. The home side played well and even scored two goals but they were both ruled out by the referee, the first for fouling the Dynamo Kyiv keeper and the second for the ball going out of play just before that cross resulted in a goal for Metalurh Donetsk.
Ukraine, Premyer-Liha, Karpaty – Vorskla 0:2
Martin Bogatinov played from the start for Karpaty and conceded two goals. The first goal was scored by Jovan Markoski in the 3rd minute as his shot from a difficult angle hit the post before it redirected to the back of the net while on the second goal, Bogatinov was indecisive dealing with a cross from the right which ended up being headed in by a Vorskla player. Karpaty has gotten off to a disappointing start with only one point from their first four league games.
Ukraine, Premyer-Liha, Volyn – Metalist Kharkiv 0:3
Vance Sikov started at left CB for Volyn Lutsk and played the entire game while also picking up a yellow card in the 72nd minute. His team suffered a convincing home loss against the third placed team from the Ukrainian top division last season which features six Argentine players on their roster.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Kortrijk – Lierse 1:1
Boban Grncarov made his debut for Lierse by playing all 90 minutes as his side was held to a draw in the opening round of games in Belgium. Grncarov was involved in an incident in the 52nd minute when an opposing striker named Ernest Webnje Nfor allegedly elbowed Grncarov which led to the referee giving Nfor a straight red card. Lierse could not take advantage of the extra player and settled for the 1:1 draw.

Aleksandar Trajkovski started for Zulte Waregem and played until the 85th minute when he was replaced by Giuseppe Rossini. Trajkovski started as a support attacker behind the main striker Jens Naessens in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Genk – Beerschot 3:1
Tome Pacovski was an unused substitute for Beerschot as he was the #2 keeper behind Kristof Maes.
Austria, T-Mobile Bundesliga, Salzburg – Mattersburg 0:0
Ilco Naumoski started for Mattersburg and played until the 74th minute when he was replaced by Ronald Spuller. Naumoski had his best chance in the 25th minute but his effort was cleared by the opposing keeper as Ilco also picked up another yellow card in the 56th minute. He now has three yellow cards after three league games, meaning one more and he will be suspended for a game.
Austria, T-Mobile Bundesliga, Kapfenberg – Sturm 3:0
Filip Gacevski was an unused substitute for Kapfenberg as he was also the #2 keeper behind Raphael Wolf. Kapfenberg recorded a convincing home victory against the defending Austrian champions.
Switzerland, Axpo Super League, Luzern – Thun 0:0
Muhamed Demiri began the game on the bench for Thun before he came on at the start of the 2nd half replacing Christian Schneuwly. The game ended in a goalless draw as Thun played against their manager from last year, Murat Yakin, who left the club earlier this summer to become the manager of Luzern.
Switzerland, Challenge League, Aarau – Stade Nyonnais 2:1
Aco Stojkov started on the bench for Aarau before he came on at the start of the 2nd half replacing Artur Ionita. Stojkov threatened in the 50th minute but his low shot was saved by the visiting keeper. With the game winding down, Stojkov scored the game winning goal in the 86th minute to hand his team a narrow home win over Stade Nyonnais.
Switzerland, Challenge League, Brühl – Wil 1:1
Adis Jahović started for Wil and played until the 56th minute when he was replaced by Anatole Ngamukol. The 24 year old Jahović joined Wil earlier this summer from Bosnian club FK Sarajevo.

Vlade Lazarevski was not called up by Amiens in the first round of games in the French second division.
Denmark, Superliga, Lyngby – Køge 3:1
Bajram Fetai started on the bench for Lyngby before he entered the game in the 78th minute replacing Kim Aabech. Minutes after entering the game, Fetai came close to scoring but his powerful shot from the edge of the area went just wide of the goal.

Kristijan Naumovski was not called up by Dinamo Bucureşti as Cristian Bălgrădean started in goal while George Curcă was on the bench as the #2 keeper.

Aleksandar Todorovski was not among the 18 players called up by Polonia Warszawa. Todorovski watched the game from the stands as the Polonia manager decided to start 34 year old Marcin Baszczynski at right-back. This is bad news for the Macedonian national team as two of our options at RB, Vlade Lazarevski and Aleksandar Todorovski, did not even make the bench for their respective clubs.

Zlatko Tanevski was an unused substitute for GKS Belchatów who suffered a tough loss to open up the Polish season by conceding the game winning goal in the 90th minute from a penalty.
Poland, Unibet 1. Liga, Arka Gdynia – Piast Gliwice 2:2
Mirko Ivanovski started on the bench for Arka Gdynia before he entered the game in the 60th minute replacing Janusz Surdykowski. Ivanovski made an immediate impact for Arka and won a penalty less than a minute after entering the game. Fellow striker Ensar Arifović converted the penalty to tie the game at 2:2 but that proved to be the final score as well.

Ilija Nestorovski began the game on the bench for Viktoria Žižkov before he came on in the 61st minute replacing Matej Sivrić. Nestorovski had his best chance in the 65th minute when he capitalized on a mistake by the opposing defense but his shot was saved by the alert home keeper.

Armend Alimi played the entire game for Istra 1961 who suffered a close lose for the second consecutive game with the visitors scoring the only goal of the game in the 37th minute.

Both Daniel Georgievski and Zeni Husmani played the entire game for Šibenik who recorded their first victory of the season.

Goran Todorcev played all 90 minutes for Inter Zaprešic while his teammate Goran Gancev started on the bench before he entered the game in the 53rd minute replacing Luka Batur.

Agim Ibraimi played the entire game for Maribor and continued his good form to start the season with another assist. Ibraimi provided the assist on the second goal for Maribor in the 80th minute when he found youngster Matic Črnic who scored his first league goal in a Maribor uniform. Ibraimi also showed nice skill in the 75th minute when he played a clever ball to Dalibor Volaš whose effort went just wide of the goal.
Slovenia, 1. SNL, Olimpija Ljubljana – Gorica 2:1
Dragan Cadikovski started for Olimpija Ljubljana and played until the 71st minute when he was replaced by Filip Valenčinč. Cadikovski assisted on the first goal for Olimpija in the 43rd minute when he found Dare Vršič who scored past the visiting keeper. Dragan also picked up a yellow card in the 35th minute.

Slovakia, Corgoň Liga, Dukla Banská Bystrica – Košice 4:0
Darko Tofiloski started for Košice and played until the 78th minute when he was replaced by Fernardo Lopez. Tofiloski conceded four goals by the 75th minute and the Košice manager then decided to substitute Tofiloski and bring on his backup keeper for the last twelve minutes of the game.

Goran Dimovski played all 90 minutes for Dacia and helped his team record a narrow road victory in the second round of games in Moldova.
