Italy, Supercoppa Italiana, Inter – Roma 3:1
Goran Pandev started for Inter and played until the 79th minute when he was replaced by McDonald Mariga.  It started bad for Pandev because he was at fault for Roma’s opening goal in the 21st minute as he lost the ball in midfield which led to Roma’s counter attack goal by John Arne Riise.  Pandev redeemed himself when he scored a goal with a little help from Roma players Mirko Vučinić and Juan.  The goal came out of nowhere as Vučinić made a pass which was missed by Brazilian defender Juan and Pandev was there to score from close range.  Inter played in a 4-2-3-1 formation but Pandev played on the right and not on the left like he did last year or in earlier friendly games.Pandev, Materazzi & Stanković with the trophy
