Vardar vs. Pelister, at one time the biggest derby in Macedonia, will highlight the Round of 16 matchups in the Macedonian Cup.

The draw for the Round of 16 matchups in the Macedonian Cup took place today. Each team still alive in the competition would learn its opponent. Of the eight matchups, the most attractive one was Vardar vs. Pelister. That is usually the biggest derby in Macedonia, but Pelister has fallen on hard times. They now compete in the second division. Still, the atmosphere should be good for both legs.

Vardar vs. Pelister

Shkendija vs. Metalurg

Gostivar vs. Rabotnichki

Renova vs. Sileks

Bregalnica vs. Shkupi

Horizont Turnovo vs. Skopje

Vlazrimi 77 vs. Mladost Carev Dvor

Makedonija Gjorche Petrov vs. Ljubanci

Besides Vardar, the other top two teams, Shkendija and Rabotnichki, also received favorable draws. Shkendija will face struggling Metalurg, while Rabotnichki will meet second division side Gostivar. As previously mentioned, the Round of 16 is played over two legs. The first legs will take place on September 30, while the date of the return legs will be decided at a later time.

Rabotnichki is the defending champion in the Macedonian Cup.
