In the 9th minute he had a chance to break the dead lock, but it was an easy save for Handanović as he went too much on the right and closed his angle. Later he almost accidentally scored from a distance by sending a long ball in the box that ended hitting the crossbar. In the 59th minute Pandev doubled the lead when he intercepted a poor shot by Laxalt and beat the visiting keeper from inside the box. Ten minutes before the end he received a standing ovation as Darko Lazović took his place.
