Klisman Cake ended his four-year spell in Shkëndija as Russian top flight club Akhmat activated the release clause for the defender.

“Out of respect for the player’s desire to take the next step in his career and try a new international challenge, Shkëndija decided to cooperate in the realization of this transfer, receiving financial compensation.” – announced the club on Saturday.

The amount that the team from Grozny paid for Cake is 400.000 Euros. according to Transfermarkt, the Albanian defender is currently valued at 700.000 Euros.

The club also poits out that the transfer comes as a story of fairness and mutual trust. After the championship title, last summer he was a free agent and had the opportunity to leave without any benefit for the club, but he chose to renew for another season, making a significant contribution to Shkëndija’s historic European success. Today, he leaves, bringing benefit to the club that gave him space and trust.

Klisman Cake joined Shkëndija in January 2022 from Struga and for 4 years and five incomplete seasons he was an integral part of the Tetovo based team. During this period he won the 1.MFL title and recorded 133 official appearances (106 in the league, 3 in the Macedonian Cup and 24 in the European sompetitions), scoring 12 goals.

His great performances in Shkëndija eventually brought him a call up for the Albanian national team for the October matches, making a debut in the friendly match against Jordan.

Cake is the third player that leaves Shkëndija, after Egzon Belica and Kamer Qaka. So far the club from Tetovo added Drilon Islami from Romanian side Cluj and Fahd Ndzengue from Brera Strumica.
