Sedloski takes charge of Riga

Goce Sedloski takes on his first international coaching adventure as he has been revealed as the new manager of Latvian side Riga.

After resigning from Vardar in late August 2017, Sedloski was without a club. Today the Latvian side announced the arrival of the former Macedonian national team defender as he managed of the club, replacing Slovenian Slaviša Stojanović.

Riga is a pretty new club as it was formed just three years ago in 2014. They are from the Latvian capital and play at the stadium of Skonto. The 2018 season which in Latvia starts in March will only be its third in the Latvian top flight, but in the previous two Riga was twice runner-up. Sedloski has been brought to make that crucial leap and grab the club’s first title.

It is the first international adventure as main coach for the popular Sedlo. After retiring from his active career for 3 years he was coach of Austrian side Mattersburg, but as assistant. After that he was assistant in the senior national team where in one game he served as caretaker (against Lithuania) before taking a main coach job at Turnovo that paved the way for joining Vardar.

In Riga he has brought with him his assistant Aleksandar Vlaho who worked with Sedlo in both Vardar and Turnovo.
