Rabotnichki cleared of doping charges

UEFA cleared Rabotnichki of doping charges facing its two players, but fined the club 30.000 Euros with a conditional sentence.

Milovan Petrovikj and Dino Najdoski tested positive for a banned substance during last season’s UEFA Europa League game between Rabotnichki and Lazio, and UEFA has finally announced a ruling.  UEFA concluded that the doping was accidental, likely caused by carelessness.

After UEFA announced that the two players had tested positive last year, Rabotnichki immediately fired its medical team who they believe accidently gave the players the banned substance.  Also, as a precaution, Rabotnichki opted not to play Petrovikj and Najdoski until UEFA came down with the ruling.

UEFA did, however,  fine Rabotnichki 30.000 Euros for carelessness in the doping case and also handed down a conditional sentence as well, meaning that if another Rabotnichki player tests positive over the next three years, the club will be banned from entering any UEFA competition.

Petrovikj and Najdoski will be available to play for Rabotnichki starting in September.
