Preview – Round 19

Macedonian football is back in action, finally. 19th round is scheduled for this weekend, with 4 matches in stock.

Vardar – Milano

The last two teams placed on the new table with 10 teams will meet on Saturday in the opening round of the spring part. Vardar have changed a couple of presidents along the way, left without many important first-team players but couple of days ago got strong reinforcement from Makedonija Gjorche Petrov in several players and their coach and with the several experienced players who arrived earlier, plus with the announcements of new sponsors that are about to help the club, Vardar might be looking into a brighter future. Milano from Kumanovo have also managed to survive the worst and are back on feet once again. Instead of the youngsters who have not won a single match in the first part of the season, we will now see totally changed team which, truly, might find it hard to avoid the last place because of the big gap, but will surely be much tougher opponent for every team.

Pobeda – Metalurg

Pobeda lost the heart of the team in Ilija Nestorovski who moved to Czech Republic and several other players but also acquired couple of experienced and couple of talented players with who Pobeda will attack on the upper places on the table. Metalurg have also made changes to the squad, but are looking compact and will surely be one of the top contenders for the third place.

Teteks – Pelister

The Tetovo football team have made a dream-team for Macedonian conditions acquiring several excellent players and should be one of the better teams  in the remaining part of the season. Pelister have seen couple of complete turnarounds through this winter and have remained without couple of experienced players, including captain Dimitrovski, but with new and returning players from the northern neighbors, Serbia, will try to keep the high place on the table and maybe search for Euro-appearance. The first match between these two in Bitola ended 3-1 for Pelister.

Sileks – Turnovo Horizont

Both teams have more or less remained with the same squads from the first part and considering these teams are near on the table with similar number of points we might be heading into an evenly-contested match. Turnovo won at home in the first match between these two teams with 2-0, so it is Sileks’ turn now to search for revenge.

What and where to bet

Vardar against Milano is set at 1.20 and it is a fact that Milano have the biggest chance to finish last, but I will gladly take 2.81 on the double chance of draw and away win, rather then staking my money at 1.20.

I am going with the away win in Prilep where Metalurg are priced at 4.50. Amazing value for Your money, but if You are into playing safe then take a shot at 1.94 on draw or away, double chance.

The betting market for Tetovo’s match opened at 1.80 for the hosts, but it is now down to 1.50 which I must admit don’t find it enough. Instead, I might want to try over 2.5 goals on the match but You know Macedonian weather and the damage that can do on the stadiums and the pitches.

I don’t know if I am still ready to separate Sileks and Turnovo without seeing them couple of times in the new part, so I’ve placed my money on under 2,5 goals.
