Metalurg is back on top of the table after today’s comfortable win against Sileks coupled with Vardar’s scoreless draw against Teteks in Tetovo.
With Baze Ilijoski finding the back of the net in each half and a late goal by Dragan Nacevski, Metalurg cruised to an easy 3-0 win over Sileks and returned to the top of the table with 20 points. Keep in mind that Vardar also has 20 points but Metalurg has the better goal difference. Ilijoski has now scored 6 goals in the Macedonian top division after 8 rounds, making him the top scorer in the league.
Rabotnicki finally took care of home and demolished Napredok 4-0 at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon. It seems the doping allegations did not hurt Rabotnicki as they rose up to the challenge and noted a convincing win against the Kicevo based club. Both clubs had 12 points prior to this game but after today’s result, Rabotnicki is now in 4th place by itself.
Ohrid surprised Horizont Turnovo at Kukus stadium and managed to collect the narrow slim victory. Turnovo initially took the lead early in the match but Ohrid bounced back through Igor Kleckaroski and Hristijan Dimoski whose goals turned the game around to give newly promoted side Ohrid an important three points in their efforts to avoid relegation.
As previously mentioned, Teteks and Vardar played a scoreless draw. The fans of both teams created a good atmosphere and Vardar had several quality chances but their finishing let them down so both sides settled for a point.
Meanwhile, 11 Oktomvri keeps sinking as they suffered another close loss, this time to Renova. The match finished 0-1 for the visitors Renova with the lone goal being scored by Muarem Bajrami in 11th minute. However, the match did not finish as the main referee Aleksandar Stavrev ended the game early in the 78th minute due to crowd trouble.
