Macedonia moves up 11 positions on the FIFA ranking list and is now placed on the 53rd position for July 2009. The progress came after the draw against Norway and the win over Iceland in the World Cup 2010 qualifications last month.
With the 2:0 win over Iceland and the 0:0 draw against Norway, Macedonia won 74 points and moved up to the 53rd postion with 589 points, three points behind Finland and two more then Venezuela. This is the best placement in the last year after the record placement on the 46th position in October 2008.

Macedonia is the only team from the World Cup 2010 UEFA qualification Group 9 which made a progress on the FIFA ranking list. Netherlands dropped one position, Scotland dropped two, Norway dropped three and Iceland moved one position down:
