Manager Boban Babunski, in addition to the 18 players originally summoned, has added four domestic players to the U21 team for the qualifier against Northern Ireland.
Boban Babunski, the U21 national team manager, decided to add four more players, all from the domestic league, on top of the 18 players originally called up to the squad for the upcoming qualifier against Northern Ireland. The four added players to the squad are Goran Siljanovski from Renova and three Rabotnicki players in Darko Velkovski, Gjoko Zajkov and Viktor Angelov. Zajkov is a CB, Siljanovski and Velkovski are midfielders, while Angelov is an attacker. The four players will provide extra depth in the case that some player/(s) sustain an injury prior to the match. The management of Renova actually complained about Siljanovski being left out of the original squad to Makedonski Sport yesterday and Babunski added him to the team earlier today. Meanwhile, the three players from Rabotnicki are still teenagers with the oldest being Angelov at 18 years old.
Macedonia U21 will play against Northern Ireland on the 10th of May. In addition, later in the month, the team will also play two friendly matches against the Netherlands and Albania, which will serve as preparation for two more qualifiers in early June against Faroe Islands and Denmark.
