Macedonia U21 notched a minimal 1:0 victory over the Olympic team of Qatar during Tuesday’s friendly in Germany.
The friendly between Macedonia and Qatar was not televised, nor was there a link online, so it’s to say much more about the game. The final result after 90 minutes read 1:0 in favor of Macedonia’s U21 national team with the lone goal being scored by striker Marko Simonovski of Metalurg.
This was the starting lineup for Macedonia U21: Dimitrievski; Toshevski, Damchevski, Talevski, Ashkovski; Blazhevski, Velkovski; Nikolov, Markoski, Gjurgjevikj; Simonovski. Also played: Petreski, Zajkov, Radeski, Bojku, Adili, Stojanovski.
Shortly after the game, we did exchange messages with manager Boban Babunski on Facebook. He said the team played well as a group, but regretted the fact that more goals were not scored. We then asked Babunski whether Filip Petreski, the new name on the U21 team from Australian club Northcote City, played and, if so, what kind of impression he left.
Babunski said, “Filip demonstrated great quality and showed that he can be a great addition for the next qualifying cycle.”
