After several years spent on Rabotnichki’s goal and one failed loaned adventure in Belgium, the 22-year-old finally realized his dream to play abroad. He signed a 1 year long contract with Lahti, a club from the town that bears the same name.

Originally Lahti had their eyes on Davor Taleski who trained with the team but failed to reach terms regarding the contract. Immediately Damjan was summoned and signed. The team finished on the 4th place last season earning a spot in the Europa League qualifications. Striker Marko Simonovski helped them achieve that with his 13 goals, but left the team this transfer window. Shishko should be the first choice keeper as the other two are unexperienced teenagers.

Shishkovski spent his whole career with Rabotnichki starting with the club’s youth academy. In January 2015 he went on loan to Gent with an option to be bought, but a hand injury prevented him to show his qualities and convince the Belgian team to sign him resulting in an early return to Macedonia.

He was a second choice keeper for the U21 national team that competed at the 2017 EURO in Poland where he played the last group stage game against Portugal. He is yet to be capped for the seniors.
