Central defender Vanche Shikov and winger Ferhan Hasani will definitely miss the upcoming friendlies against Cameroon (26 May) in Austria and Qatar (30 May) in Italy.

Shikov has been out with an injury for Volyn, while Hasani sustained an injury this weekend while playing for Brøndby. He was forced to leave the pitch in the 37th minute and later examinations showed that he will have to rest.

Regarding these withdrawls, national team coach Boshko Gjurovski released the following statement: “Shikov and Hasani are definitely not available to help us in the games against Cameroon and Qatar. They informed me that due to injuries they will have to miss these preparations. For the first game against Cameroon there is no need to call-up additional players, but most likely I will call up some players for the game against Qatar. At the same time, I also won’t have Arijan Ademi, he is injured and missed the last game for his club Dinamo Zagreb. He needs time to recover and it is very important to have him 100% ready for the crucial matches. The number of players that will miss these preparations due to various reasons isn’t small as besides those mentioned above, we well also be without Ostoja Stjepanovikj, Stefan Ristovski, Muhamed Demiri and Ezgjan Alioski. Still, this doesn’t mean that we will change our approach for both games, that is to give our best and mainly see the potential of the players that have never had a chance to show their qualities on the national team.”
