Rabotnicki celebrated a 1:0 win against Mika in the first leg of UEFA Europa League second round.
Although fans expected higher win, after the ending of the match everyone can be satisfied with the 1:0 win over Armenian team Mika. It was a rather boring match without many created chances under the hot weather, but Fernando Lopes deservedly received a red card in the 38th minute and left Rabotnicki with 10 players. The free kick caused by Fernando coulf have been a lead for Mika, but Edílson Abdala Júnior’s shot hit the post. Fábio Silva, top Europa League goalscorer, had to be substituted for Rabotnicki’s new player Egzon Belica in order to keep it tight at their own end.
In the second half, Mika opened bit more and created more chances but Rabotnicki with their European experience managed to grab the win. Wandeir scored a goal in the 87th minute and brought a huge win not only to Rabotnicki, but for Macedonian football as well. Good result for Rabotnicki although they were expected to score more, but considering they played more then 45 minutes with a player less, the 1:0 win can please the fans.
The return leg will be played on 22nd of July in Armenia.
