Macedonia defeated Qatar in the friendly match played today in Skopje. Goran Pandev was the hero, scoring both goals in the 2:1 victory.

During the whole first half Macedonia had the domination and created few good scoring chances, but Stojkov, Ibraimi and Pandev failed to score. And they were punished because of that, so Qatar scored the opening goal in the 24th minute as Musa Haroon scored from the only serious chance that Qatar had on the whole match.
But their celebration didn’t last for long as Goran Pandev equalized in the next attack and on five minutes before the end of the first half he scored his second goal for 2:1.

In the second half both coaches used all substitutions so the 5.000 fans on the National arena Philip II of Macedon didn’t see much entertaining football. Filip Ivanovski had the biggest chance in the second half, but he missed the target.
