For the first time in Macedonian football history, the Gradski stadium in Shtip will be host of the domestic cup final.  To date,  the Macedonian Cup final has been played mostly in Skopje at the now named National Arena Philip II of Macedon, formerly known as the old Gradski stadium.  However, since the Philip II Arena is undergoing renovations, a new venue was needed.  Besides Skopje, the cup final has also been held in Prilep at the Goce Delchev stadium (2000, 2011), in Strumica at the Mladost stadium (2002) and in Kavadarci at the Gradski stadium (1997).

Four clubs are still active in the battle for obtaining the cup trophy.  Those teams are Vardar, Renova, Rabotnichki and Horizont Turnovo.  The first legs of the semifinal matchups Vardar - Renova and Rabotnichki - Horizont Turnovo both ended 1:1 so the return legs, scheduled for later this month on 25 April, will decide which two teams advance to the final.

The Gradski stadium in Shtip is the home venue of Bregalnica and holds a capacity of 4.000 people.
