Goran Popov was arrested for drunk-driving last Saturday, Dutch media reported. It looks like Heerenveen defender has exaggerated a bit in celebrating the victory of his club against Ajax.
The 24-years-old defender was stopped by the police in the center of the city. He was driving with two flat tyres and apparently had been drinking previously. This happened right after the match against Ajax when Heerenveen won 0-1. He will have to follow a course about handling alcohol in traffic but it is still not known whether he will be prosecuted. Popov is among the players called up for the friendly match against Moldova
Similar thing happened to Mile Krstev and he was immediately released on a free transfer by Veendam.
