Due to appearing in 100 caps for the senior national team, Goce Sedloski will receive a commemorative cap and medal from UEFA prior to tomorrow’s game between Macedonia and Slovakia.
UEFA, the governing body of European football, has decided to honor all the players who have made at least 100 appearances for the various national teams across Europe. So far, there are a total of 109 players who have accomplished that feat, including former Macedonian international Goce Sedloski.
Newspapers are reporting that the popular Sedlo will be presented with the commemorative cap and medal by UEFA prior to tomorrow’s game between Macedonia and Slovakia to conclude the EURO 2012 qualifications. 11 October is also a holiday in Macedonia so the date will be special for Sedloski who was born in Prilep and made exactly 100 appearances for Macedonia.
During those 100 caps, Sedloski scored 8 goals despite being a defender. The 37-year-old Sedloski retired from football a year ago and is currently an assistant coach for Austrian club Mattersburg.
