The Turkish giant may send Elif Elmas on loan to Gençlerbirliği in order to allow him enough playing time.
According to Turkish daily newspaper Yeni Şafak, Elif Elmas is going to move to Gençlerbirliği where he will spend the rest of the season as a loaned player.
Fenerbahçe signed the young Macedonian this summer from Rabotnichki, but failed to register him due to being underaged. Elmas trained with the first team, but played games for the youth team and appeared only in friendlies for the senior team. Also, he was regularly summoned for various Macedonian national teams such as the senior, the U21 and the U19.
Elif will be allowed to play in official games from January, but the Turkish giant has too many foreign players in its roster. Rumors so far have said that some of those players will be sold in order to be made place for the Macedonian, but today’s headline added another version of Elmas’ future.
Gençlerbirliği also competes in the Süper Lig where it currently lies 17th, deep into the relegation zone. They are from the capital city of Ankara, so that means that Elmas would have to relocate from his current home in Istanbul.
