After the transfer offensive of Torino for Ilija Nestorovski, the Sicilian club had to publicly announce that the Macedonian striker is untouchable.
Palermo’s director of sport admitted that there has been an official offer from Torino for Ilija Nestorovski, but added that it was immediately turned down as the Rosaneri have no intention of selling their best goalscorer in the middle of the season when the team is fighting for promotion in the Serie A.
“I can confirm that Torino was interested in signing our attacker Ilija Nestorovski. However, we have no intention of selling him.” director of sport Fabio Lupo told SportItalia.
Since his arrival on the island Nestorovski has attracted interest from various clubs not just from Italy but from all around Europe. Last season he was heavily linked to Fiorentina, but he decided to stay in Palermo and help the team get back in the top Italian flight.
He scored 10 goals this season in Serie B, but have in mind that he missed several games due to injury. Currently the league is on break and Ilija is in Macedonia where he follow the handball national team at the European championship in Croatia.
